About Walt
I grew up in Charles County attending JP Ryon Elementary, John Hanson Middle and Thomas Stone High School. I've served as a volunteer coach for Charles County Parks and Recreation and worked for the Charles County Board of Education.
I was appointed to the United States Capitol Police and attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA.
I entered the private sector completing internal and external theft/fraud investigations for several companies over the past 30 years.
I am currently the Senior Manager of Asset Protection and Facility Security Officer holding a Top Secret Clearance, while overseeing Government Contracts for a Non-Profit. Recently, I passed my Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Exam to expand my knowledge of land use and development.
God has blessed me with a 28 year marriage and a wonderful son and daughter who also have deep community ties through their respective public service careers.
I acknowledge I am an unknown, unproven, wild card who is NOT a politician. I don't need the title, power or prestige some seek from this office. I believe the office is for the PEOPLE, not the Commissioner.
God has truly blessed me in this life. If HIS plan for me is to fight and advocate for you as your next D1 Commissioner, I welcome that calling and will give you all that I have!

SAFER SCHOOLS WITH IMPROVED RESULTS
More investment in teachers and less administrative staff. Review of the current curriculum to lose the indoctrinating agenda.
Resource Officer in EVERY School.
Metal Detectors or Weapons Detection Systems.
Accountability and Zero Tolerance.
EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT GOVERNMENT
Support the OIG in its pursuit to identify waste, fraud, abuse and rein in reckless spending of taxpayer dollars. More responsible spending should allow for the lowering of taxes.
Transparency. No infighting. No more wasteful lawsuits.
Build back community trust through character, integrity and honor.
REDUCE CRIME
Fully support CCSO. Tougher sentencing guidelines and accountability for "soft on crime" judges. Hold minors who commit crimes more accountable OR their parents.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Improve infrastructure that will better support our current residents and contribute to a better quality of life for all. Roads and stormwater infrastructure must be better addressed and remediated.
MORATORIUM on all building in our county until this is addressed.
Charles County's current system is not sustainable.
